Casey Gilfillan
The lurching glow of the hallway pokes through,
Threatens a spotlight.
Cast it upon the throat, the thigh; thrown back
And left bare against mercy.
You say yes more, think less later.
But I am stuck there, hiding in the shadow just beside.
Not seen but cemented in the
Pathetic feeling of the moment, the
Façade hardens just as well as the rest.
Lock me in the cage of self as you run far from here.
