I Have Two Eyes But I See One Vision

Mat Gilson

I have two eyes but I have one vision. I have two ears but I receive one sound. Everything is simple! Five fingers for one sensation, I can whittle it all down. It is the end of August and the whole of my body feels wrapped by one heat. Two lungs succumb to the same smoke, I can make it all simple. I can pull you into me. It is these complex systems, these redundancies, that provide inevitability. I can whittle it all down, singular; sharp. The darkness is on, and you are the flickering light. The darkness is on, and I will consume you.
