But, In Fact, There Is A Solstice

Mat Gilson

I thought that summer ended but, in fact, there is a solstice.

Late September, there is a solstice. There is a solstice, before you can leave the summer there is a solstice there is more space in the season between us now and when there is a solstice there is more time than you think between us now and the solstice you may wish the summer ended but, in fact, there is a solstice. It is cold and there is change but, in fact, there is a solstice.

If God could only see me now, wishing away his precious eternity one small month at a time, one even and precious day for its equal and fleeting night. If God could only see me now, laying out in the dark yard, writhing around. “Get inside!” He would yell. “Get inside, for the plague is upon you now!”

Who is going to tell us when the plague is upon us now?
